Establishing a Spiritual RelationshipHow is your spiritual relationship with yourself lately? If you are feeling a little (or a lot) disconnected or need some grounding before or after a busy day, there is hope! Any feelings of uneasiness or despair can be linked back to a spiritual disconnect to ourselves. Here are some simple exercises you can do to establish or re-establish a spiritual relationship with yourself: 1. Write. Anything from the heart. 2. Meditate. Sit quietly or surround yourself with music you enjoy. 3. Paint. Buy yourself colors and paint brushes, and don't worry about the outcome - enjoy the process. 4. Laugh. At yourself, life, whatever. No reason needed. 5. Read. Spiritual books are in abundance. One book I really enjoy is: "One Day My Soul Just Opened Up" by Iyanla Vanzant. 6. Forgive yourself. Hug yourself and love yourself. This can be more spiritually cleansing than anything else combined. 7. Practice feeling gratitude. Your spirit will thank you! 8. Reach out and touch someone. Emotionally or physically. Or send them a mental "hello - I care about you". 9. Say "no" to distractions. Turn off the TV and tune into yourself. 10. Connect to your true feelings - allow yourself to feel deeply, whatever it is and release it.
