Spiritual Awakening

What is it like to experience a spiritual awakening? There are many different ways one can feel an “awakening of the soul”. It is difficult to explain, there are no easy ways to describe what one can be feeling. One way that I discovered I was spiritually opening up, was that many ordinary desires just suddenly disappeared. For a period of time I lost all desire for things like watching television, eating food, the taste of alcohol, any kind of gossip or purposeless talk about others. All the usual stuff that distracts from the deeper thoughts seemed uninteresting.

On the flip side, I began to experience a deep calling just to be in my own element, this other way of being, just “being”. The only way to describe it is to think back of how I used to “be” when I was just a playful child. As a child I didn’t know “should do or must do” of conditioned adult life. I concentrated more on what I wanted to do. In those times it was naturally easier to feel blissful, to feel free. When I engaged in play, time would pass quickly and I became totally present in the moment. In those times of playing I thought only of the game. I hadn’t thought about that playful time until my spiritual awakening. In this time of spiritual awakening I remembered more of my childhood, and what it was that easily engaged me for hours: writing and painting.

As I learned, through a spiritual awakening, you will do a lot of healing. First you may lose your desire for a lot of ordinary things, then you go on a path to find yourself again. Like so many of us adults who have just lived the life they thought they “should”, you need to find the most truest part of who you are. You connect with the deepest truth about you. The part of you, the real you that is possibly buried, disguised, and abandoned.

Don't be afraid to show the world who you really are - it is the part your inner child loves so much. Don't let your monkey mind talk you out of it. Through the spiritual awakening, discover the truth.

The inner spirit will try and communicate with you. Do you hear it? I finally did. I got to the locked away core. And now, my inner spirit keeps communicating and can’t be denied anymore. Enjoy your spiritual awakening. It is a time of great excitement and discovery.
