Tips on Finding Your Writing Muse
Summer is one of my favorite times of the year. There are endless opportunities to enjoy the outdoors. Maybe like me, you enjoy engaging in many outdoor activities. I also enjoy sitting on a big rock overlooking the valley with pen and paper in hand. I find that getting in touch with myself comes easier when I am away from the hustle and bustle of the city.
Have you been dreaming about writing more? Perhaps you've been wanting to journal or write short stories? Here are some coaching tips to get your creative juices flowing. Take yourself on an "exploration date" and do one or a few of the following outdoor activities. When you return, write about your adventure.
1) Visit a bird sanctuary
2) Go caving - find a cave
3) Take the kids or a friend to the lake or neighbour's pool
4) Try out canoeing
5) Try out parasailing
6) Meditate in the woods, by a lake or on the mountain
7) Talk to a long lost friend
8) Pet a new foal on a pasture
9) Observe an eagle soaring in the air
10) Park your car in the shade and get out for a stroll in the park
